Maiden Voyage

Back when Ella was 3 months old we took her tent camping and it was horrible; rain, pushy park rangers, and over all just too much work for one day away left a sour taste on our mouths for camping. We swore off tent camping and started looking for a trailer. This weekend we headed out on our first trip with our new (to us) trailer and had a great time! The weather at Doheny State Beach was perfect and the trailer was everything we hoped it would be. I can't wait to go again!

4th Wedding Anniversary

On Thursday Guy and I celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary! Thanks to Grandma we were able to go out and enjoy some time together, just the two of us. We headed down to one of our favorite restaurant Joe's Crab Shack (YUM!)and then Guy surprised me by taking me to the drive in movies. This past year has been awesome and the next year is sure to be filled with even more excitement! I love you honey!

First Day of Summer

Ella LOVES the bath, but has not been to keen on pools lately. A few weeks ago we picked her up a tiny pink pool at Toy "R" Us and decided we would try and work her up to the bigger pools gradually. (and what better day to start than the first day of summer?) As expected, at first she didn't want anything to do with the pool. But with a little encouragement from Mom and Dad, as well as watching her doll enjoy the pool she was in and splashing all of the water out in no time. It looks like her baby doll will be going with us to all pools for a while.

Dear Daddy,

I love you so much! Thank you for working so hard to give me a backyard to play in and always making me laugh. You're the best!

Carl teaching Ella new tricks...

As you have read before, Ella and Carl are inseparable these days. Ella shares all of her food with Carl, and Carl teaches Ella how to do things like climb out of the dog door, drink from the water bowl, eat dog food, and now to lick water off the patio. Yesterday the sprinklers had just turned off and Carl was licking the water that had landed on the patio. I ran inside to grab something, and when I came back out this is what I saw...






Oh how she makes me laugh =) I love this little girl!

Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes...

Lately Ella has been all about naming body parts. We started with just her nose and eyes and now she can name her nose, eyes, mouth, teeth, tongue, ear, feet, belly and belly button. Of course you have to be cautious when asking her to point out your eye, because she is not gentle and will quickly jab her finger into your eye as Cousin Amy found out.

It's a BOY!!

Can you believe it? We are having a boy! We are so excited to meet this little guy.

Pregnancy Update: 20 weeks pregnant!

how far along: 20 weeks

sleeping: I am sleeping surprisingly well! Can't say I have any complaints.

total weight gain: 4 lbs

movement: I am feeling the baby moving around a lot more often now. Nothing yet that you can feel from the outside, but I'm sure that will be here soon.

food craving: Anything spicy. Lot's of Mexican food!

what I miss: at this moment not much. I am feeling pretty "normal". Gotta love the second trimester!

what I look forward too: Guy being able to feel the baby move.

milestones: I am finally half way!

how am I feeling: Excited! I can't believe I am already half way through this pregnancy. It is going so fast! Now that I am feeling better I want to slow down and actually enjoy being pregnant. I am getting a lot of people asking if we will be done after this baby, and I can't say yes. Although the thought of two often seems a little overwhelming I love the idea of having a big family. I guess only the future will tell =)

Happy Birthday Madi!

Dear Madison,

Today you would have been one year old. Your Mommy and Daddy, along with all the rest of your family and of course your extended family (Me, Guy, and Ella) all miss you a ton. We often think about you and talk about you all the time. Ella thinks about you too and has grown quite fond of kissing your picture. Your Mom actually had to move your picture to a plastic frame because Ella wouldn't leave it alone. The past six months have not been easy. Your parents are doing the best they can, and we are doing our best to make sure they are taken care of. It helps to know that you are watching over them. We love you so much baby girl!

Watermelon = Summer

What a great weekend! We started some much needed yard work, got to see baby #2(post to come), and spent some time with family and friends. Ella enjoyed some delicious watermelon which always reminds me of summer. Here's some pictures from our Memorial Day BBQ!
