Finding Nemo
Friday we took Jack to see his first movie, Finding Nemo. I couldn't believe that he lasted (with a few attempts to roam the theater) the entire movie! This picture is not the best quality. But I wanted to be sure to capture the memory so a blurry phone picture will have to do.

Under the weather
We had a quick cold go through our house. One day when we got home from Kim's Ella was not feeling well and fell asleep on the chair. I was taking her temperature and Jack decided he wanted to try it out. First he took his own temperature, then he decided that it would be way more fun to take Ella's.

52 Week Project Week 33-36
Week #33
Sunday August 19th, 2012
A quick picture before I flew out of town for some training. Guy and the kids were left to fend for themselves for 6 days and while cereal made a regular appearance for dinner, they all did well.

For a change of pace and some free fun, we spent some time at the Mojave Fish Hatchery.

Week #35
Friday August 31st, 2012
We started our long weekend with a short family vacation at Crystal Cove State Beach. We stayed in one of the beautiful cottages and had such a relaxing time! The beach was literally right outside the door. The sand was perfect and the water was the clearest we have ever seen in California.

Week #36
Friday September 14th, 2012
Jack's first movie, Finding Nemo. He did so good! A little restless at times, but we stayed for the entire movie. Grandma Parkinson came along and we were almost the only ones in the theater.Couldn't have asked for a better first trip!

Crystal Cove
WARNING: this post has WAY too many pictures! There were so many things we loved about the 3 days we spent at Crystal Cove and so many memories I wanted to look back on and remember. What a beautiful beach! The water was the clearest we had ever seen in CA, the tide pools were fun, soft beach sand, and a beautiful cottage all created the perfect environment for us to just relax and enjoy each others company. I will let the pictures (because there's plenty! lol) tell the rest of our story.

Mojave Fish Hatchery
Last week the kids and I kidnapped Chris and took him with us to the Fish Hatchery. I had never been but I thought it would be a fun for the kids to get a close up look at the fish. They loved feeding the fish and squealed when they would jump out of the water to eat the food. Free, close to home, and fun = great day

Self Portrait
I know I have said it before, but we are so lucky to have the kids in a really good day care with a woman who truly loves them! One of the many things we love about Miss Kim is that she does crafts with the kids (Jack is starting to get in on the fun too) every day. Today, Ella brought home a "self portrait". Miss Kim said she added the glue and all of the features herself. Ella was so proud, that before we hung it up in her room we took her picture. Love it!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!
We had a really good time celebrating Grandpa's birthday; visiting with everyone and cooling off in the pool. One thing I wanted to be sure to remember was a cute conversation that Ella had with Grandpa. It went like this...
E - Grandpa, what number are you?
G- I turned 57 today...can you count to 57?
*Ella stops to think for a minute and then responds*
E - I could, but it would take all day.
We all laughed and could not believe that was what her answer was!
Happy Birthday Grandpa! We hope 57 is filled with lots of fun and adventure!

This summer has been full of fun! This trip to Silverwood Lake with the family was no exception. The kids loved playing in the water enjoying the sun.

Week #30
Tuesday July 24th, 2012
The kids were watching a show before bed. When I went in to check on them they were sitting together in the chair, completely happy to hang out together. I took the opportunity to snap a picture.

Ballet
Ella has learned so much since she started 6 months ago. She can now show you an arabesque and many other basic ballet and tap moves. Miss Alyssa has provided a great balance of fun and learning. After every class the kids receive a sticker and when they fill up their sticker paper (3 months) they get to pick a special prize. Ella was so excited when she filled up her paper!
