Pregnancy Update - 36 weeks pregnant!

how far along: 36 weeks

sleeping: Sleeping has been rough. How can I have to pee FOUR times in the middle of the night when I haven't had anything to drink??

total weight gain: 17 lbs

movement: I feel a lot of movement at the top of my belly; found out at my ultrasound today that the baby is head down! YA!

food craving: cereal.

what I miss: Having energy. I am feeling pretty tired at the end of the day lately.

what I look forward too: Meeting the little guy. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone!

milestones: We picked a name! Jack Edward Thomas

how am I feeling: I am feeling a little anxious about how Jack will make his way into the world. The ultrasound today showed his average size at 37 weeks 5 days (almost 2 weeks ahead!!) with an estimated weight of 7lbs 3oz. I hope he is not so big that the doctor wants to forgo trying a VBAC and skip to a C-section. We will know more next week.

Aloha!

Because this is baby number two, I didn't really want a traditional baby shower. So instead, Chrissy and my Mom threw us a good old fashioned luau. We had family, friends, great food, photo opportunities, and lots of Hawaiian shirts, hula skirts, and lei's. We even had one coconut bra! It was so much fun! And as if that wasn't enough, everybody brought so many diapers that this baby is set for a long time! We have a ton of pictures! (It may take a few posts to share all of them!)

Maternity Photo Shoot

Yesterday I had my Maternity Photo with Staci Zohlen of Staci Zohlen Photography and her lovely assistant Sarah. It was so much fun! We took the pictures in a field by our house at sunset and I can tell by the sneak peek I am going to love them! I can't wait to have one of these beautiful pictures hanging in our home! Thank you Staci! Click here to check them out.

Ella at 18 months...

is quite the adventurer. Some words that I would use to describe Ella at 18 months are: smart, funny, stubborn, independent, loving, and adventurous. She is into everything and starting to really test her boundaries. (yes, the fit throwing and time outs have begun) It is fun to watch her try new things, new foods, and new challenges. Her vocabulary is growing every day and she will try to say pretty much anything you ask her too. I don't think she quite understands that we have another baby coming soon. If you ask her where the new baby is she pats her stomach and says baby. She definitely keeps us on our toes.

Below is an example of her adventurous problem solving side. She tried to climb the wall in our backyard in another area but it was too tall and she wasn't able to get a good footing on the bricks; so she headed to the end of the wall where it's not as tall and was able to climb to the top.

Now...does anyone have any suggestions for keeping her off of the wall?

Love you baby girl!

Pregnancy Update - 34 weeks pregnant!

how far along: 34 weeks

sleeping: Sleep? What sleep?

total weight gain: 14 lbs

movement: The movements are a lot bigger now. It feels like he is really rolling around in there, my whole belly moves.

food craving: Fruit. I picked up some peaches, pluots (yum!), cantaloupe, and strawberries at the Farmer's Market yesterday and I can't seem to get enough!

what I miss: Being able to roll over in bed and not wake up because my belly is in the way.

what I look forward too: Finishing the nursery. The paint and baseboards are finished, now we just need add furniture and the final touches. Pictures to come!

milestones: I am now going to the doctor every 2 weeks, and after my next appointment weekly doctor's visit's will begin. Were getting close!

how am I feeling: Lately I am feeling tired. I am waking up a lot during the night to change positions or go to the bathroom. Ella has decided to help us great ready to wake up with the new baby by waking up about 2 the last few nights(I think she is teething), and setting her internal alarm clock to 5am!

JUMP!

Guy has been teaching Ella to jump, and on labor day Ella and Amy thought that jumping was hilarious. It is so cute to see them interacting with each other. I can't wait until they are able to play together.

Labor Day BBQ

Great Grandma and Grandpa Seybert hosted a Labor Day BBQ. The food was delicious as always and Ella had so much fun visiting with family, playing with the dogs, and exploring their big back yard.

I LOVE this picture. She looks so cute even though her nose is covered in boogers and drool is flowing out of her mouth
